Trial fitting of Multivan Seats
I did a trial fitting of the rear multivan seat and matching front seats in the van today, it only took about half an hour to fit the rear seat. I had to drill a couple of extra holes in the van floor and utilise some captive nut plates which I obtained from VW. The seat then bolts down using these and the middle load lashing points, the rear shelf bolts through the rear load lashing points and I need to get some plates welded to the wheel arches to attach to also. There are a couple of u shaped brackets which have to bolted the side to support the seat back.
Measured the position of the seat and there is only room for a 57cm unit when the bed is in sleep position, there is 125cm when its in seating position. So I'm going to have to have a good think about how I'm going to fit a hob and sink in this space. There are 3 choices make the unit just with a sink and use a small cartridge stove on a shelf at the side (These are available on ebay from Germany). I could build a unit that can swivel out of the way at night or have unit with an overhang at one side.
