Roof Rails Fitted
I fitted the VW Sharan roof rails today which I'd acquired from a kind chap off the T4 forum at Vanfest in August.
These were pretty straightforward to fit but required an 18mm hole to fit through, they are then bolted using some M10 bolts with large spacer washers. The roof gutters on the T4 consist of about 3 layers of metal and the drill bit kept snagging due to its size. Even though the rails have there own sealing rubber, I sealed around the fitting with a bead of sikaflex.
I then attached some Thule Aero roof bars to the rails in readiness for the roof boxes I intend to buy.
